Affiliate links
We don’t use affiliate links yet. The site has no advertising or paid partnerships today.
If we add affiliate links in the future, for example to seed sellers, they will work like this:
- Every affiliate link will be labeled “Affiliate link” right next to it.
- If you make a purchase after following one, we may earn a commission. It doesn’t cost you anything extra.
- A commission never changes a figure, a grade, a list position or a similar-strains match.
- Links to seed sellers will be shown only in countries where those sales are lawful, with this note beside them: “Affiliate link: we may earn a commission. Seeds are sold where lawful. In some countries, including the UK, germinating cannabis seeds is illegal.”
We will update this page before the first affiliate link goes live.
Editorial independence
No company, breeder or seller can pay to change what we publish about a strain. The lab figures, grades, rankings and similar-strains matches come from our data pipeline, using the same rules for every strain, and not from anyone’s preference. Nobody can pay for a place on a list.
If we ever publish anything sponsored, it will be clearly labeled “Sponsored”, and it will never be a ranking or a list of strains.
No sponsored rankings
Our lists, such as the strongest strains by lab results, are ranked only by lab data, with the rules shown on each list. Their order can’t be bought, and strains aren’t left out because of who grows or sells them.
No reader reviews
We don’t publish reader reviews, star ratings or review counts, and we don’t take part in review programs. Where a strain page describes effects, it is the breeder’s own description, labeled as such, not a finding of ours. Effects vary from person to person.
Where the data comes from
Our figures come from public lab-result datasets from several US states and a published study of US lab data. Each figure shows its grade, which says how much data stands behind it, and the number of lab results. The datasets, their credit lines and the grading rules are on our sources and grading page, and the strain-level figures are free to download from our open data page.
How we use AI
We use AI tools to help with some of the writing. A drafting tool writes narrative text, such as a strain’s description, from facts we give it: the lab figures from our pipeline and the sources we cite. It isn’t allowed to add figures, health claims or anything we haven’t sourced. Gordon Hill, the site’s editor, reviews AI-drafted text before it is published.
Figures never come from AI. Every number on the site comes from our data pipeline.
The illustrations are original characters drawn for this site, made with our own drawing kit and AI-assisted tools and checked by hand.
