Information only
Everything on this site is general information about cannabis strains and their chemistry. It is not:
- medical advice. Nothing here tells you whether cannabis, a strain, a cannabinoid or a terpene is right for you. Talk to a doctor about any health question.
- legal advice. Cannabis is illegal in many places, including under US federal law and in the UK. The law where you are is your responsibility, so check it.
- shopping advice. We don’t sell anything, and nothing here recommends getting, growing or using cannabis or seeds.
Lab figures describe samples that labs tested. They vary by grower, batch and lab, and they don’t predict how any product will feel.
Who can use the site
The site is for adults 21 and over. Use it only where it is lawful for you to read information about cannabis.
Our data, and how you can reuse it
The strain-level lab figures and the charts we publish as open data are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0). You may copy, share and adapt them, including commercially, as long as you credit CannabisStrains.com and the original data sources, link to the licence and say if you changed anything. The files, the credit line and the upstream credits are on our open data page. Some upstream sources have terms of their own, and those still apply.
Our illustrations and writing
The strain illustrations are original works and all rights in them are reserved. So are the site’s text, design and name. Unless the open data page says something is open, you may not copy, republish, sell, print on merchandise or use our illustrations or text to train AI models without our written permission. Short quotes with a credit and a link are fine. To ask about licensing an illustration, use the contact form.
Strain names belong to their breeders or owners, or to no one. We use them only to identify strains. A name on this site doesn’t mean anyone endorses us, or that we’re connected with them.
Using the site fairly
Please don’t:
- try to break into, overload or disrupt the site, or get around its security checks;
- collect the site’s content automatically in a way that ignores our robots.txt file or slows the site for others (the open data downloads are there so you don’t have to);
- use the site for anything unlawful.
Links to other sites
We link to sources, datasets and other sites so you can check our work. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
No warranty
We work hard to keep the information accurate and up to date, but we can’t promise it is complete, correct or current, or that the site will always be available. The site and its content are provided “as is”. If you spot a mistake, please tell us.
Our liability
The site is free, so our liability is limited as far as the law allows:
- We aren’t liable for any loss that comes from relying on information on the site, from links to other sites, or from the site being unavailable.
- We aren’t liable for any business loss, such as lost profit, revenue or data, or for indirect loss.
- Our total liability to you for anything to do with the site is limited to £100.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that the law doesn’t allow us to limit, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you’re a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your legal rights.
Changes
We may change the site, or these terms, at any time. The date below shows the latest version. If you keep using the site after a change, the new terms apply.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere and are a consumer, you keep any protection the law of your country gives you, and you may also bring a claim in your local courts.
